ECI SPECIFICATIONS:
GENERAL:

A.  Aerators will have no moving parts.

B.  The system shall consist of submerged static tube aerators.  Each aerator shall consist of one  or more
cylindrical  polyethylene housings containing an air diffuser assembly.  Air is introduced into the unit
through a PVC diffuser with drilled orifices.  The final pressure drop in each lateral is taken at the
diffusers.

A technical package will be included for each system.  The package will include detailed calculations,
oxygen requirements, and head loss calculations.  The package will also contain a written copy of the
blower package performance characteristics.

C.  All components of the system shall be suitable for the temperatures and vibrations inherent in the
aeration system.

ECI AERATORS:

A.  The vertical static tube aerators shall be factory fabricated of SDR 32.5 or higher polyethylene and PVC
materials.

B.  The aerators have been designed to maximize the mixing of the liquid and injected air.  Aerators shall be
anchored by individual bases.  Water inlet ports are to be located per design / drawing to insure the
water is drawn from the depth specified.

C.  The aerators shall be assembled using 300 stainless steel hardware, and will contain no moving parts.
The aerators will be manufactured by Environmental Concepts, Inc. located in Stillwater, Oklahoma U.S.A.

AIR FLOW CONTROL VALVES:

A.  A bronze gate shall be installed in each lateral for shutoff, as well as air flow balance.  Gate valves shall be
bronze and rated 125 PSI pressure and minimum operating temperature of 125 Degrees F.

PIPING:

A.  All under water piping shall consist of PVC schedule 40 per ASTM D-2466, ASTM D-1785, and ASTM-1784.
Piping shall be graded in size to promote a balanced pressure distribution throughout the system.  A
section of flexible hose shall be used on each lateral to eliminate pulsation and allow for expansion and
contraction.  Pipe and fittings shall be joined using cement and primer as per ASTM-D-2855 and
ASTM-F-402.  Anchor straps shall be ultraviolet-inhibited nylon rated to 120 pounds tensile strength.

B.  A positive connection shall be made at the main air header take off distribution line interface.  A flange to
flange connection or a PVC pipe manufacturer's transition fitting shall be acceptable.

C.  The aerators will be located in the system as indicated on the drawings.

D.  Orifice holes no smaller than 1/4 inch diameter and no larger than 3/8 inch diameter shall be drilled in the
air diffuser for each aerator.  The aerator manufacturer shall provide a detailed analysis of his proposed
system up to the air lateral /main air header pipe interface.  An analysis will be supplied of the potential
air distribution along the longest lateral distribution pipe which has been installed under the worst
installation case with elevation tolerance conditions of plus or minus six inches.  The worst case is defined
as a condition in which the orifice holes serving the first aerator (that closest to the main air header pipe)
are more than 12 inches above or below the orifice holes serving the lowest or highest aerator on any line.

E.  The aeration system (laterals and aerators) are capable of being installed as a "wet" or "dry" installation.
Each aerator is capable of being individually lifted from the lagoon bottom to the surface.

AIR BLOWERS:

A.  The air blower, unless otherwise specified by the customer, shall be positive displacement type, designed
to operate continuously without over heating or over loading the motor while operating at rated power, air
volume and total pressure as shown in the design calculations provided by the aeration system
manufacturer.

B.  The design rating shall be guaranteed with an allowable tolerance on the stated inlet volume of plus or
minus four percent.

C.  Each blower shall be equipped with a V-Belt drive, or a type approved by the blower manufacturer.  An
OSHA approved guard for the belt drive (expanded metal) shall be installed.  The belt and drive belt pulley
shall be selected for design conditions.

D.  Silencers shall be per blower manufacturer design, and approved by the Project Engineer.

E.  Inlet filter shall be a dry type filter with weather hood.  Each blower inlet filter shall be furnished with a
vacuum gauge to indicate when filter elements should be replaced.

F.  The inlet and outlet silencers shall be mounted in a horizontal position.  They shall be selected for design
conditions as provided by the aeration system manufacturer.

G.  The blower and electric motor shall be mounted on a common base with an adjustable motor base to
allow for uptake of belt slack.

DRIVE MOTORS:

A.  Each air blower, unless otherwise specified, shall be driven by a three phase 60 cycle 230/460 volt squirrel
case induction motor open drip proof, with class B insulation.  Motors shall be equipped with high temp
thermo over load relays.

BLOWER TESTING:

A.  Each blower package furnished is supplied with a 2 (two) year warranty on the blower & the units will be
test run before leaving the factory.

B.  Manufacturer startup and operating manuals will be provided by the blower manufacturer.  If startup is
not strictly adhered to, warranty will be void.
